Ramadan- A Month to Seek Blessings of Allah

There are various events and festivals celebrated annually all over the world. Some festivals are general and not associated with a specific region and religion. Some festivals are specific to religious rituals. Muslims celebrate their religious festivals with a great devotion and respect. Each one has its own importance and significance but the importance of Ramadan Mubarak is eminent.  Ramadan is 9th month according to the Islamic calendar.

Muslims fast during this month which is obligatory for everyone except sick and the children who do not reach the age of puberty. The person who fasts does not eat or drink anything from Fajar to Maghrib and seeks forgiveness of Allah Pak through good deeds and worship. People give alms and do good deeds in order to please Allah Subhana Watallah. Namaz-e-Traweeh is a special prayer offered during the month of Ramadan after Isha Prayers. This Namaz has numerous benefits and fazail according to the Islamic point of view. As Islamic quotes reported by Sahaba demonstrate its significance. 


Hazrat Abu Huraira reported that the Holy Prophet (PUBH) said;
“Whoever prays during the night in Ramadan sincerely; seeking his reward from Allah, his former sins are forgiven.” (Sahih al-Muslim, Vol 1, page 259)

Sayyidna Ibn Abbas (R.A) narrated that, 
During the month of Ramadan, aside from the praying of Wit’r the beloved Prophet (PUBH) would also pray 20 rak’ahs of Taraweeh. 

The month of Ramadan is divided into three parts known as “Ashrahs”.  These ashrahs namely called as Ashrah-e-Rehmat, Ashrah-e-Maghfirat, and Asrah-e-Nijat. Special wazaif are offered and People recite Quran heartedly in these ashrahs. The last ashrah is superior as Laialtul Qadar the night of blessing comes in it. Some people do “Itakaf” for in these last ten days of Ramadan. After this holy month according to the Islamic Calendar, Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on 1st of Shawwal.

Ramadan is a spiritual reflection of the blessings of Allah. The last divine book “Quran” was revealed in this month. Allah likes those who follow His path.
